Who can apply for the Holman Family Foundation Scholarship?

Any graduating senior from Irvington High School who plans to attend a 4-year college or university may apply.

Do I need a specific GPA to apply?

Yes, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.

Can I apply for both scholarships?

Yes. If you plan to attend Hampton University, you may apply for both the general scholarship and the Hampton University scholarship.

How are recipients selected?

Applications are reviewed by the Holman Family Foundation Scholarship Committee. Students are evaluated based on:

• personal statement

• academic effort

• leadership and community impact

• future goals and aspirations

When will scholarship recipients be notified?

Recipients will typically be notified late in the spring semester before graduation.

How are scholarship funds distributed?

Scholarship funds are to support the student's direct and indirect educational expenses. They are given directly to students upon receipt of a paid bill for the fall semester.

What should I include in my application?

Students should be prepared to provide:

• basic personal and school information

• future education plans

• activities or leadership experience

• a personal statement
